ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, March 7. The delegation
of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) visited the
Turkmenistan’s Turkmenbashi International Seaport in order to get
acquainted with its capabilities and services, Trend reports.

During their visit, the delegation from JICA had the opportunity to explore the technical equipment, services, and tariffs offered at the Turkmenbashi seaport, as well as visit each terminal individually, as stated by the Maritime and River Transport Agency of Turkmenistan (Turkmendenizderyayollary).

The representatives of JICA also gained insights into the benefits of the customs storage regime for transit goods at the port, which allows for the storage of various cargoes and goods on-site without the need to pay customs duties or clearance fees for up to 3 years.

Founded in 1974, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the development of other countries through technical cooperation and the exchange of experiences.

JICA collaborates with over 160 countries, providing assistance in diverse fields such as education, health, agriculture, transport, infrastructure, and more, while also contributing to the enhancement of human resources in partner nations.
