On a fateful night, the McCarty family prepared for bed when a Cessna 550 Citation jet crashed into their home in Murphy Canyon, California, causing a devastating fire that nearly consumed their residence. As the McCartys and neighbors scrambled to escape the flames and chaos, San Diego Police Chief Scott Wahl described the scene as “everything on fire all at once,” with jet fuel igniting vehicles and panic spreading through the community.
