Professional footballer Jay Emmanuel-Thomas denies importing class B drugs in court after being accused of attempting to smuggle £600,000 of cannabis through Stansted Airport. The 33-year-old was sacked by his club Greenock Morton and appeared in Chelmsford Crown Court alongside co-defendants Rosie Rowland and Yasmin Piotrowska, who also pleaded not guilty to the charges. Emmanuel-Thomas, of Cardwell Road in Gourock, Inverclyde, was arrested by the National Crime Agency and remanded into custody following the alleged offence between July and September of this year.
