Former House member and three current Utah Congress members invited Jan. 6 defendant Russell Taylor to Trump’s inauguration, Taylor pleaded guilty to obstruction of an official proceeding, led a mob at the Capitol, and wore weapons during the attack, requesting permission to travel to D.C. for the event. Taylor cooperated with the government, testified in trials, and was described as the “poster child” for handling Jan. 6 cases properly by the judge, while Trump has praised Jan. 6 rioters and expressed willingness to pardon them.
