James Cameron Hires Martin Sheen for GHOSTS OF HIROSHIMA Audiobook as He Preps Film About Survivor of Both A-Bombs

James Cameron’s Upcoming Film Adaptation

James Cameron is set to make his return to non-Avatar filmmaking with an adaptation of *Ghosts of Hiroshima*, a book by Charles Pellegrino narrating the true story of Tsutomu Yamaguchi, who survived both atomic bombings in Japan during WWII. Martin Sheen has been hired to narrate the audiobook, which will release on August 5th, coinciding with the 80th anniversary of the Hiroshima bombing. Cameron aims to create an “uncompromising theatrical film” that honors Yamaguchi’s wish to remember and learn from these historical events.
