Bulgaria’s Dy PM Mariya Gabriel expressed gratitude to Indian Navy for successfully rescuing seven Bulgarian nationals. Taking to her ‘X’ handle, Mariya Gabriel shared a tweet thanking PM Modi and EAM Jaishankar for rescuing hijacked vessel MV Ruen from pirates. Reading the words of gratitude from his Bulgarian Counterpart, EAM S Jaishankar replied, “That’s what friends are for”. Displaying tremendous gallantry, The Indian Navy warship INS Kolkata on March 16 took 35 sea pirates in custody who hijacked MV Ruen. The Indian Navy safely evacuated 17 hostages, defeating armed sea pirates who hijacked MV Ruen. The merchant vessel that had been hijacked in Dec 2023 and was under the control of Somalian Pirates was sanitized for the presence of illegal arms, ammunition, and contraband.
