Since the mid-1960s, Israel has received unprecedented military and diplomatic support from the U.S., particularly during the Trump and Biden administrations, allowing it to pursue its Zionist goal of expanding its borders and accelerating the displacement of Palestinians. Despite its apparent power, Israel’s strategies reflect a settler-colonial mentality that has led to a failure to achieve legitimacy and lasting security in the region, with an aggressive expansionist policy supported across the political spectrum and a significant rise in Jewish settlements. This mindset has obstructed the emergence of a genuine peace movement, as evidenced by widespread public support for military actions and settlement expansion among Israeli citizens.
