Israeli strike in Gaza kills 25 people as US makes new push for a ceasefire

In a deadly Israeli airstrike in the central Gaza Strip, at least 25 Palestinians were killed and dozens more wounded, including many children, Palestinian medics reported. The strike targeted a multistory residential building in the Nuseirat refugee camp, damaging nearby houses as well. The attack came shortly after President Biden’s national security adviser expressed optimism about a ceasefire deal in Gaza, following a similar agreement in Lebanon, as the fighting has caused a severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
