Israeli soldiers enter Nabatieh, a major city in southern Lebanon

Israel’s military has crossed the Litani River in southern Lebanon for the first time since 2006, positioning itself to encircle the city of Nabatieh, a significant economic and cultural center. Israeli forces are expanding their air campaign and have issued evacuation orders for at least 10 villages amid ongoing peace talks with Lebanese officials. As the conflict, ignited by Hezbollah’s actions in March, continues, over 1.2 million people have been displaced, complicating efforts to enforce a ceasefire.
