Israeli soccer fans were attacked in Amsterdam

Israeli soccer fans visiting Amsterdam were attacked in the streets by local residents in what was described as “antisemitic attacks” by Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar condemned the violence and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a “very violent incident.” Amsterdam Mayor Femke Halsema condemned the attacks and said that Israeli fans were targeted by local men on scooters in what she described as a threat to Jewish life and culture in Amsterdam. 62 people have been arrested following clashes between the fans and residents. One Israeli fan reported being attacked by around 10 assailants, while another was warned about the violence by a local restaurant owner.
