Israeli ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Israel Katz attended the reopening of the Sa-Nur settlement in the West Bank, nearly 21 years after its evacuation in 2005. The Israeli government has approved 126 housing units there, with 16 families having moved in. Sa-Nur is one of four former settlements recently re-established, defying international law, amidst increasing settlement activity and violence in the region. Rights groups report a surge in settler violence since October 2023, raising concerns over the implications for Palestinian communities.
