Israeli forces have launched a large-scale military operation in Qabatiya, a Palestinian town in the occupied West Bank, following an order from Defense Minister Israel Katz to “act forcefully” against the area linked to a suspect of a recent attack. The operation includes mass arrests, home demolitions, and the establishment of military interrogation centers, displacing numerous families. Rights groups condemn the practice as collective punishment, amidst escalating tensions and daily military incursions since the onset of conflict in October 2023. As of early December, nearly 21,000 Palestinians have been arrested, with many held without charges.
