Ami Ayalon, a former commander of the Israeli navy and head of the Shin Bet, alongside 17 colleagues, expressed grave concerns about the future of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state. They published a full-page advert in major Israeli newspapers, highlighting that the government is prioritizing personal power over the welfare of hostages and the public, with 70% of Israelis supporting an end to the war and a new election. Ayalon urges allies, including global Jewish communities, to openly oppose the current government, emphasizing that true support for Israel means advocating for its people rather than its extremist leadership.
