The Israeli military acknowledged that initial accounts of the killing of 15 people in southern Gaza were partially mistaken, with troops misidentifying paramedics and rescue workers as Hamas operatives. A video obtained by The New York Times contradicted the military’s earlier version of events, showing clearly marked ambulances being fired upon by Israeli forces. While the military believes some of the victims were Hamas operatives, humanitarian organizations have stated that all those killed were humanitarian workers who posed no threat.
