Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil was assassinated by Israeli forces on April 22 while on assignment near Bint Jbeil, a site symbolic of resistance in Lebanon. Despite receiving threats from the Israeli regime, she continued to report on the situation in southern Lebanon. Khalil’s death follows a pattern of violence against journalists in the region, with over 250 Palestinian journalists killed since October 2023. Her assassination highlights ongoing concerns about the targeting of media workers in conflict zones.
