Iran’s Foreign Minister Issues Threat to US Amid Protests
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, issued a stern warning to the U.S., stating Iran would respond forcefully if attacked, amid escalating tensions following a violent crackdown on protesters. This comes as U.S. military assets, including an aircraft carrier group, are moving towards the Middle East. An Iranian Kurdish group reported a drone and missile attack by Iran on its base in Iraq, marking Tehran’s first foreign military action since the protests began. The death toll from the protests has surpassed 4,500, the highest in recent decades, echoing the unrest of the 1979 revolution.
