Iran to participate in World Cup games in the US, says FIFA’s Infantino

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that Iran will play its World Cup 2026 matches in the United States as scheduled, despite concerns stemming from the ongoing US-Israeli conflict with Iran. The Iranian football federation had previously sought to move its matches to Mexico, but Infantino emphasized that all teams will participate as planned. Iran’s first match is against New Zealand on June 15 in Los Angeles.
