Iran to halt strikes on neighbors unless attacked: Pezeshkian

Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian announced that neighboring countries housing US assets will no longer be targeted in the ongoing war, unless an attack originates from there. The Gulf Cooperation Council nations, as well as Iraq, Jordan, Azerbaijan, and Turkiye, have been affected by Iranian retaliatory strikes, causing disruptions in flights, oil and gas production, and potential global energy market turmoil. Amid escalating tensions, Qatar’s Energy Minister warned of possible export halts and impacts on worldwide GDP growth. The conflict has resulted in US casualties in Kuwait and over 1,200 Iranian fatalities in the first week.
