Iran to establish interim council following Khamenei’s death

Iran’s security chief Ali Larijani announced that an interim leadership council will be established following the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. This council will include the president, the head of the judiciary, and a jurist from the Guardian Council, and is expected to be formed by today. Larijani emphasized the need for a swift transition, while also warning against external threats and internal dissent. The council will govern until a new supreme leader is elected by the Assembly of Experts.
