Iran has sentenced three individuals to death for their involvement in the 2020 assassination of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, with the case currently in the appeal stage after being processed in the Revolutionary Court of Urmia. The three individuals were accused of espionage and smuggling equipment to carry out the attack on Fakhrizadeh, who was killed in an ambush on a highway outside Tehran.
