Iranian authorities did not indicate that the incident was a deliberate attack, and the timing coincided with U.S.-Iran discussions on nuclear issues in Oman. The port, strategically located along the Strait of Hormuz, previously faced a cyberattack by Israel in 2020, but Israeli officials did not comment on this explosion.
