Innocent man arrested due to AI facial recognition error

Alvi Choudhury, 26, was wrongfully arrested by Thames Valley Police after their AI facial recognition system mistakenly identified him as a burglar linked to a £3,000 theft in Milton Keynes. Choudhury, who was working from home at the time, was detained for hours before officers quickly realized their error. He is now suing the police, raising concerns about racial bias in facial recognition technology, which has been shown to disproportionately misidentify individuals from certain demographic groups.
