Indian steel giant JSW eyes container manufacturing

JSW Group, a major Indian conglomerate led by Sajjan Jindal, is exploring entry into container manufacturing, seeking to challenge Chinese dominance in the sector amidst India’s Maritime India Vision 2030 initiative. The move comes as Chinese factories control over 95% of dry cargo containers globally. Meanwhile, in the US, Compact Container Systems has introduced the SeaFold HC 40’ container, aiming to revolutionize container movements, cut repositioning costs, reduce storage space, and lower carbon emissions significantly.
