India and Canada Target Trade Pact and Uranium Deal by Year End

Indian PM Narendra Modi and Canadian PM Mark Carney aim to finalize a free trade pact by the end of the year, boosting economic ties to increase bilateral trade to $50bn by 2030. The two countries also agreed on a $2.6bn uranium deal and will collaborate on civil nuclear energy and defense industries. Relations between India and Canada have improved after a strained period in 2023, with both countries looking to diversify trade away from the US and deepen cooperation in areas such as clean energy and agriculture.
