In a Kentville, N.S. courtroom, family and friends of victims Brayden Lemmon and Victoria Cousins delivered emotional impact statements following a 2023 car crash caused by Drake Robert Brown, who was impaired and speeding over 170 km/h. Brown faces sentencing for two counts of impaired driving causing death and one count of bodily harm after the incident on August 24, which left Cousins and Lemmon dead and another passenger injured. Prosecutors are seeking a seven-year prison sentence, with victim statements revealing the profound grief and anger of the victims’ loved ones. The sentencing hearing will continue on March 4.
