A primary school in Auckland’s Devonport, Stanley Bay School, incurred $33,000 in legal fees during an employment dispute with former principal Emma Tolmie. Concerns about Tolmie’s management style were raised by teachers in May, describing their wellbeing as at a "breaking point." She resigned on December 15, shortly after the complaints were revealed by the Herald. Tolmie had not been at the school since the board received the teachers’ letter.
