A Central Railway ticket checker forced a Marathi-speaking couple to speak in Hindi on a Mumbai local train, leading to his suspension. The couple was pressured to write a statement disavowing the use of Marathi, sparking outrage and protests by the Marathi Ekikaran Samiti at Nalasopara station. The TTE has been taken off duty pending investigation, with an FIR filed by Vasai GRP, as the incident continues to be scrutinized.
