The hospital may be forced in the coming hours to ration electricity so that certain wards can be prioritised.

Gaza’s healthcare system is in crisis due to Israel’s ongoing war, which has resulted in over 1,700 healthcare worker fatalities and extensive damage to medical facilities. Al-Aqsa Hospital faces imminent electricity rationing as its main generators fail, jeopardizing critical patient care. Despite a U.S.-backed ceasefire, violations persist, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis with severe shortages of medication, equipment, and staff. The Health Ministry reports over 72,000 Palestinian deaths and 171,000 injuries since October 2023.
