The Greens have criticized plans by Colossal Biosciences to resurrect the South Island giant moa, arguing that the funds should instead support the conservation of endangered species. Notably, this initiative, backed by Kiwi director Sir Peter Jackson and the Ngāi Tahu iwi, is part of broader de-extinction efforts that include the woolly mammoth and dodo.
