Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) reported that Victor Manuel Diaz, a 36-year-old Nicaraguan immigrant, died by suicide at an El Paso detention center. Found unresponsive on January 12, Diaz had been detained since January 6 amid federal raids in Minnesota and was ordered to leave the U.S. in August. His death follows that of another detainee, Geraldo Lunas Campos, whose death was classified as a homicide due to asphyxia. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing.
