Staff at the International Criminal Court (ICC) have been severely impacted by US sanctions, cutting off their access to financial services and everyday activities like online shopping and email. The sanctions were imposed in response to the ICC’s war crimes investigations into Israeli and US officials, leading to restrictions on nine staff members, including judges and the chief prosecutor. The measures have caused inconvenience and uncertainty for those targeted, with consequences ranging from lost access to credit cards to travel restrictions, as well as threats over arrest warrants issued by the court.
