Hyundai names North American exec Jose Munoz as CEO, effective Jan. 1

Hyundai Motor Co. has named Jose Munoz as the next president and CEO, effective Jan. 1, succeeding Jaehoon Chang who will become vice chair of Hyundai Motor – Automotive Division. Munoz, a veteran in the auto industry, is the first non-Korean CEO of Hyundai and currently serves as global COO and president/CEO of North American operations. Chang stated Munoz is well-suited to lead as Hyundai focuses on mobility and energy in the future.
