AI could soon enable humans to communicate with animals.

Researchers worldwide are utilizing ‘digital bioacoustics’ to capture the subtle sounds and behaviors of animals that are often unnoticed by humans.

These recordings will be used to train artificial intelligence to interpret animal communications into a language that humans can comprehend. Organizations like the Earth Species Project anticipate a breakthrough within the next 12 to 36 months.

Aza Raskin, a co-founder of the project, stated: “Can we create new, synthetic animal vocalizations? We believe that within the next 12 to 36 months, we will likely achieve this for animal communication.

“Imagine if we could develop a synthetic whale or crow that communicates in a way that is indistinguishable from their own kind.

“The exciting part is that we may be able to engage in conversation even before fully understanding the content of what we are saying.”
