HP and Dell disable HEVC support in laptop CPUs
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Some Dell and HP laptop owners have encountered issues with playing HEVC/H.265 content in web browsers, despite their processors having integrated decoding support. While sixth-generation Intel Core processors and AMD chips from 2015 onward support HEVC decoding, Dell and HP have disabled this feature in certain business notebooks. HP explicitly mentions this limitation in the data sheets for models like the ProBook 460 G11, ProBook 465 G11, and EliteBook 665 G11.
