Last year, hospices collectively spent $226 million, with only $114 million provided by the government, leading to a growing gap that threatens the future of hospice care. Without government intervention, hospices may have to close beds, prioritize referrals, and rely more on telehealth, as the demand for hospice services is projected to significantly increase in the coming years.
