Hospice East Rand’s annual Candles Celebration, originally scheduled for November 16 at St Dunstan’s College, will now be part of Homestead Helpers for Benoni’s carols by candlelight event on December 8 due to slow ticket sales and the Springboks’ game against England. The event at Homestead Dam will feature a Christmas Market from 10:00 to 17:00, followed by carols by candlelight until 20:00 where residents can light candles in remembrance of those with life-threatening diseases. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and picnic baskets for the festive evening.
