A large building in Clacton, Essex, caught fire shortly after midnight, prompting the evacuation of around 70 residents to a nearby hotel. Fire crews from seven stations extinguished the blaze, which completely destroyed the structure, while an investigation into the cause will be conducted once it’s safe to do so.
