High Court cancels €20,000 award to tenants who alleged they lived in damp and mouldy apartment – The Irish Times

The High Court has overturned a €20,000 award granted by a tenancy dispute tribunal to a Dublin family who complained of damp and mould in their apartment causing health issues. Mr Justice Alexander Owens ruled that the Residential Tenancies Board appeals tribunal mishandled the complaint against Tuath Housing Association, finding legal errors in their decision-making process. Tuath Housing Association, a major non-profit rental body in Ireland, was the landlord accused of neglecting the family’s living conditions.
