A new watchdog report reveals that over 50 school districts in Maine allow minors to hide their gender identity from parents, sparking controversy following President Trump’s “No Men in Women’s Sports” executive order. Parents Defending Education (PDE) found that at least 57 districts have policies excluding parents from knowing if their children identify as another gender, prompting Trump to threaten to cut off federal funding to Maine. Despite the executive order, policies like Portland Public Schools’ still stand, allowing students to dictate disclosure of their transgender status without parental consent.
