Head, Cummins favourites for Allan Border Medal

Travis Head is a strong contender to become the first South Australian to win the prestigious Allan Border Medal at the upcoming Australian Cricket Awards in Melbourne, following an exceptional 12 months across all formats, with a total of 1427 runs. Stand-in captain Steve Smith has tipped Head to win the men’s award, with competition coming from Pat Cummins, who had a successful year as well. Ash Gardner is vying to win her third Belinda Clark Award after a stellar 12 months, joining the ranks of Meg Lanning and Ellyse Perry if successful, with Annabel Sutherland and Beth Mooney also in contention.
