Commander Yvonne Gray and officers to face court martial over HMNZS Manawanui sinking

Three senior officers of the Royal New Zealand Navy, including Commander Yvonne Gray, have been charged under the Armed Forces Discipline Act 1971 following the grounding of HMNZS Manawanui on a reef off Samoa on October 5, 2024. The charges allege navigational errors on the bridge led to the incident. Gray has indicated through her lawyer that she plans to defend the charges, although pleas have not yet been entered.
