Hamas releases 4 more hostages as part of ceasefire agreement with Israel

Four female Israeli soldiers who were taken hostage by Hamas fighters during an incursion into southern Israel on October 7, 2023, were released and handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross in Gaza City. The hostages were then transferred to an Israeli convoy and crossed the border into Israel. The handover ceremony took place in Gaza City’s Palestine Square, where Hamas fighters in uniform and armed with balaclavas and green headbands were present, in contrast to a previous chaotic handover of hostages.
