Guinea's former dictator pardoned over the 2009 stadium massacre

Guinea’s ruling junta has pardoned former dictator Moussa “Dadis” Camara, serving a 20-year prison sentence for the 2009 stadium massacre where at least 157 people died and women were raped. Troops fired on protesters, with Camara’s aides present but not intervening, leading to mass killings and rapes. Camara, who fled into exile but returned, claims he was asleep during the massacre and was briefly kidnapped last year.
