A new interim report by the Marine Accident Investigation Branch reveals that guests aboard the Bayesian superyacht, which capsized off Sicily during a storm in August 2022, used furniture as an improvised ladder to escape. The report highlights the yacht’s vulnerability to high winds, exceeding 70 knots, which was unknown to the owner, British tech tycoon Mike Lynch, who perished alongside six others, including his daughter Hannah. Recovery efforts are ongoing but have faced delays, including a recent fatality among divers involved in the salvage operation.
