James Messham, 60, was killed during a stag do on the MSC Virtuosa cruise ship shortly after departure from Southampton, following an altercation at around 8:30 PM. A 57-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of murder but has been released on bail as the investigation continues. Messham, remembered as a ‘legend’ and a ‘proper gent’ who ran the motorbike show The Wall of Death, left behind family who attempted to board the ship after the incident, and social media tributes highlight his impact on those who knew him.
