The Detroit Tigers’ postseason run came to an end as the Cleveland Guardians won Game 5 of the ALDS, 7-3, advancing to the ALCS for the first time since 2016. Tarik Skubal struggled, allowing a grand slam to Lane Thomas, breaking a tie and putting the Guardians ahead for good. Despite Detroit’s efforts to rally, Cleveland’s strong pitching and timely hitting sealed the win, setting up a matchup with the New York Yankees in the ALCS.
