Google is accelerating the adoption of Manifest V3 in Chrome, forcing users to choose between inferior ad-blocking technology or switching browsers as uBlock Origin disappears from the Chrome Web Store. The extension is now labeled as obsolete, with Manifest V3’s restrictions on browser and web data access impacting popular add-ons like uBlock Origin. While Chrome power users can use uBlock Origin until 2025, other browsers like Opera and Vivaldi plan to maintain support for Manifest V2, while Mozilla Firefox offers continued support for ad-blocking.
