Robbers executed a highly professional heist at Sparkasse bank in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, during the Christmas holiday, stealing items valued between €10 million and €90 million ($11.8 million to $105.7 million) from approximately 3,000 safe-deposit boxes. The thieves gained access by drilling through a concrete wall from a parking garage and escaped in a stolen Audi RS 6. Customers expressed their anger at the bank, which has since notified affected clients and set up a hotline for support. No arrests have been made as police continue their investigation.
