Geraldton’s Youth Centre and foreshore have been acknowledged for their accessibility at the Most Accessible Communities WA Awards, receiving a commendation and nomination respectively. Although the City of Greater Geraldton did not win any awards, Mayor Jerry Clune highlighted the council’s commitment to inclusive public spaces. The Youth Centre, opened in July, serves as a hub for youth development, while the foreshore offers amenities for tourists and hosts large events. The City of Mandurah was awarded the title of most accessible community in WA.
