A Georgia woman, Ashley Wasielewski, 46, is recovering from severe burns after a stranger doused her with a corrosive chemical while she was walking near Forsyth Park in Savannah. The attack occurred shortly after she attended a church Christmas program, and her son reported that she doesn’t have any known enemies. Authorities are urgently searching for the suspect, releasing a security camera image of a person of interest, and are working with the FBI to identify the chemical used. Savannah Mayor Van Johnson condemned the violence, assuring the public that there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat.
